// MEDICATED BUT MOTIVATED //

JUST BECAUSE AN ILLNESS IS INVISIBLE
DOESN'T MEAN THE TREATMENT OF IT HAS TO BE INVISIBLE TOO.

Despite, living in a society that is constantly growing in it's attitude towards our mental health, the stigma is real.
It can be very hard to admit to people that you take medication, even though most of us wouldn't think twice about treating an ongoing health problem or seeking medication if we were in pain.

So many of us are hiding in plain sight, taking antidepressants or getting treatment for an invisible illness that we still can't fully admit too. One place that can present the most difficulty for people, is the work place... How many days have there been when mental health is the reason behind an absence at work, but somehow the truth of it doesn't quite come out? For some, medication for their mental health is a lifeline and without it the ability to function or feel motivation of any kind is lost.

So why do I feel the need to talk about mental health?
The Rebel Girls Club was always meant to be and hopefully is a way of spreading positivity.

The internal battle a lot of us face is real.

Anxiety is real. Depression is real. OCD is real, to name but a few...

Imagine if by talking to just one person who you suspect is struggling, or by opening up about your own mental health, you make them feel that little bit better? To me that sounds worthwhile and I hope that The Rebel Girls Club can in it's own way, show it's support for medication and treatment for all aspects of our health.

We are all beautifully complex and this is something to celebrate, the time has come to make those "invisible illnesses" visible and accepted.

Let's talk and share and support one another.

XOXO
