Hello and welcome to The Rebel Girls Club.

My name is Katie, a 32 year old Teaching Assistant and Mama from HULL.

I am constantly inspired by the women around me and this club is dedicated to them. It is also dedicated to being an online space where I can share my love for community, mental health and motherhood and invite you all to do the same.

There is no judgement here, just the honest day to day feels of a Northern women.

My back story/little known facts about me -

Well,  I was home-schooled from the age of 11 to 16 and spent a year living in a converted shed (if you're sensing hippy childhood, you're not wrong) I could chat for hours about these experiences, but the highlight had to be finding myself at a community art class aged 12 with a load of grown ups, one of which turned out to be David Hockney's brother!

I also co-hosted a podcast called Our Strange Girlhood, which I'm currently taking a break from as I'm about to have a baby. Each episode my BFF and I shared strange tales from our youth and discussed some of the weird stuff we're into and how it's shaped us as humans. Feel free to check it out on Soundcloud, iTunes, Castbox etc.

I have a design degree and ALWAYS have a creative project on the go, hence why I'm so hell bent on supporting the makers, independents and freelancers in my city.

I lived in Leeds for 5 years after Uni, where I finally identified I'd been living with OCD/obsessive negative thoughts since being small. This was a massive eye-opener for me and something I will always live with (on and off) but hey, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger! Never forget that and remember it's good to be open and share your mental health journey with others.
